Wow! what a lovely story i got!!! I would like to say that this is the first movie that i smile happily after finished watching. The Dimples story told the lifestyle of people in the industrail age, they are mixed between rich and poor people. In this movie, i saw the prosperity of new technology and things that more moderned.

Dimples, a little cute girl who live with a poor professor.She is an intertrainer in the street in mid-19th century New York City.The professor is a pick pocket because he need money to take care of dimples and his life.But..i think he's not really bad..at lease he didn't want to hurt anyone. Actually, he's very kind and innocent. The professor love Dimples so much but he has to give her to an old lady who was very rich.The old lady love Dimples so much and want to take care the girl. But Dimples like to live with her professor, she doesn't care the wealthy or money. The most important to the girl is her lovely professor.The end of this story is happy ending because dimples can help her professor not to be in jail.

In this story, i found some interesting thing such as, the cuckoo clock and cars.This is the period of industrail revolution, every people like "money". So, there was obviously social class in this age;high class, middle class and slaves.Most of slaves are black and the riches are white. I can see some sentence that they looked down the poor people.Forexample,"Col. Jasper Loring: I'll tell you why. It's common gossip that Allen has become involved with an actress, that he spends most of his time with these low people of the theater! He's even talking about putting up money to produce a play for this creature!" so... I think there is a big space between rich and poor but i don't know there's any voilence or fighting between rich and poor or not? Because the movie present it in a lovely way....

And i like them all, especially Shirley Temple (very cute like a doll!!!!)

Furry Lewis--- King of Blue.

Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee. Just the name of it raises images of musicians ranging from W.C. Handy to B.B. King. Jug bands playing in the park, smoky Blues clubs and long-gone speakeasies, card houses and brothels. A cultural center for African American life-styles throughout much of the 20th Century, located smack dab in the middle of the Country's most musically fertile region: The Mississippi River Valley. But, perhaps nobody knew Beale Street better than Walter "Furry" Lewis, a Blues musician who's life revolved along the street, with and without his instrument. A man who would encounter fame more than once during his lifetime, and who would became one of Memphis' most-favored musical sons.

He was exposed to many of the best-known Blues musicians of the time; people such as, Memphis Minnie, Texas Alexander, Blind Lemon Jefferson, and often he would play alongside noted guitarist Jim Jackson.

In 1927, Furry Lewis made two trips to Chicago alongside his old friend Jim Jackson, with the purpose of cutting records for Vocalion. The sessions produced five sides in April and another six later in October of that year. Over the next two years, a total of 23 sides in all were recorded by Lewis for both the Vocalion and Victor labels and Furry began to receive regional recognition. Among the recordings he created during this period were many that are considered the definitive Blues recordings of such tunes as "Kassie Jones," "Stack-O-Lee," and "John Henry;" as well as signature numbers like "Judge Harsh Blues" and "I Will Turn Your Money Green" (the latter which included the classic line, "Been down so long, it looks like up to me").

Furry became a popular attraction at Folk and Blues Festivals and college campus appearances throughout the 1960s. But, despite this new-found resurgence of fame, he received very little monetary gain and often found himself having to place his guitar in hock to survive day-to-day. But, money was never that important to Furry Lewis; he found his joy in performing.

By 1970, Furry had become a celebrity in yet another musical realm as he found himself playing with some of the era's top Rock musicians. He opened shows for The Rolling Stones, including one before 53,000 in his hometown of Memphis; he toured with Leon Russell, and also as a member of the Alabama State Troupers with Don Nix and Jeanie Greene.

He began to lose his eyesight due to cataracts in his final years. He came down with a case of pneumonia in 1981, which led to his death on September 14th of that year at the age of 88. He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in South Memphis, where his grave bears two headstones. A large one, purchased by fans, towers over the original marker that bears simply the epitaph "Bluesman". It does not need to say anything more.

The Outlaw Josey Wales

The Outlaw Josey Wales is one of the best western movies I’ve seen. It is the story of Josey Wales which took place in the end of the American Civil War. Well, it’s such a great action and drama movie that’s not boring! Believe me, I was excited the gun noise which happened almost every scene and I also forgot that the movie took my time for 2 hours!

Josey Wales is a farmer in Missouri during the American Civil War. One day a group of Yankee raiders led by Captain "Red Legs" Terrill attacks and burns his farm and murders his wife and young son while leaving Josey for dead. As Josey thought what to do next a group of southern raiders led by "Bloody Bill" Anderson took him into his gang to seek his revenge.

After the end of the war, Josey set out on his own, an outlaw who kills to survive. He eventually met an old Indian and some other outcasts, and together they seek out a more peaceful life. But Terrill continued to hunt him. So Josey was forced to fight again.
As I learnt the history of American, this story seems familiar with the story of Jesse James who is also the American outlaw and gangster of America at the end of Civil War.

The most important part of this story is an idian who followed Josey and help him fighting. At first, Josey was hunted in Missuri and then he got the indian. They decided to go to texas together. After that Josey help an indian woman from a bar , she followed him to Texas too.After that, Josey helped a white woman from the bad guys so all people he helped decided to travel with him including people he met at Santa Rio. When they settled at Texas, Josey knew that Ten Bears want to fight with him. But finally, Josey can make a relationship with Ten Bears by changing blood and they can be together in peace.

This story tell me that The indian was opressed by white man.Especially, the indian women who have no right to protect themselves. White people used indian as slaves or labors that causing misunderstanding between white man and indian.

In my opinion, The Outlaw Josey Wales is not difficult to be one of my favorites; a good western, with Cowboys, Indians, Confederates, Yankees, Farmers, Settlers, Renegades, and Shoot-outs. Even, Josey is an outlaw and being like a bad guy in this story but i think he preserve to be my hero. Because he help people without any fear at the same time he also make relationship between White and Indian peacefully.

What more could you ask for?

Abraham Lincoln

This movie is not quite easy to understand, because it presents the history, political and biography of Abraham Lincoln. First time I saw this movie, I thought “oh my god!, do I have to see the black and white movie?”. It’s such a strange thing for me. But the movie presented his story smoothly. I’ve never known before that Lincoln has some romantic moment with a girl (Ann Rutledge) before his marriage with Mary Todd. But so pity that they can’t be together because Ann got illness and died.

Lincoln is an important person who has domination in the American Civil War. This movie showed his life since he born till died. The first scene opened with the birth of a great man, Abraham Lincoln, on February 12, 1809.His romance with young Ann Rutledge who later dies, and functioning as a young lawyer. After he met Mary Todd at a society ball, Lincoln had second thought about attending his wedding. He eventually married her, followed by the 1860 Lincoln-Douglas debate. Lincoln wins the presidency followed by extended scenes involving the Civil War and placing Colonel Ulysses S. Grant in charge. After the Civil War, Lincoln wins second term in office, but finally, he was killed by John Wilkes Booth at a theatre in April 14, 1865.

Civil War is the greatest war in American history, 3 million fought - 600,000 died. It was the only war fought on American soil by Americans. In my opinion, the Civil War faded into history as the bloodiest and most trying time in American History. Thus, it changed the way the world thought of war.

Music assignment 1

When i got the CD... at first, i don't want to listen that songs anymore. Because it seems boring for me.But after i listened all of the songs, i have to accept that all of them are very interesting more than i thought ....especially the musics of Civil war and Blues.

Oldie song is really not my favourite but it shows many valuabe stories in the past.It such a very useful item for the next genaration to learn about history.Some songs in the CD i used to hear long time ago.

Bobby Horton "Songs and Stories of the Civil War"

He told us the stories of both the North and South through the music they loved.Most of his songs being about historical background and the soldier survivors, hopes and fears of Americans during this long and bloody conflict. His songs present feeling of American soldiers that they had to leave their lovers, familys behind during the civil war.They hope to back home ,as you can see in the context of "Shout the battle cry of freedom"

Bobby Horton is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and music historian....so it's not surprised that his series of recordings of authentic period music has been accepted by historical organizations and publications throughout America and Europe.

Blues music is also my favourite.it presents something "depress" in the contexts...may be the composers would like to tell others about their under pressure feeling through the blues musics. i'm not really sure the singers of blues have to be Black or not? But i used to hear that Blues originate from the communities of African slaves in America,right?

anyway, blues always has its own fascinating. When people feel sad or lonely , blues music can help them to be better and feel that they were not alone.

Daniel Boone

After i saw the story of Daniel Boone, i can more understand the history of American culture in nation building period.It seems that this movie was created for a long...long time ago.But it's interesting and exciting!

Daniel Boone is an action and adventure movie, not boring.It took place in the 18th century.This Daniel Boone adventure is an okay story about the brave frontiersman who leads a party of pioneers into the wilderness of Cumberland Gap and establishes the fort of Boonesborough in the middle of hostile Shawnee country. The obstacle to a peaceful settlement is Simon Girty, a renegade Frenchman who somehow is able to persuade several Indian nations and Chief Blackfish that Boone and company come not to live in peace but to steal Shawnee land and bring gun powder not to hunt game but to kill Indians who oppose white settlers heading westward.

There are fine action scenes, including a grueling, brutal running of the gauntlet by Boone and a full-scale attack on the fort by the Shawnees just before the killer of Blackfish's two sons is revealed by fate.

Personally, i think Boone is a brave man and he's so smart because he can use "peaceful" instead of "fighting"to connect between the white man and indian.Some people only know how to fight but they don't know how to reconcile. As a result, many wars began from misunderstanding if we talk together and make peace to solve the problems.....i believe every nation can be together peacefully @^__^@

Well, at first i think i will comment the music of including CD...but there're many music in there....umm it should be better if i do it next time...because i think you guys getting bored rightnow -_-' (actually, i'm not really like a long statement like this!)

Where did you go in this holiday? i think most of you were enjoy traveling in somewhere,right? Because it's a long holiday that's not frequently happen in ABAC!

Actually, i don't want to go anywhere coz many Ajarns gave me the "special" homeworks for this holiday.But my friend know that i like to clear my stuff on the last date everytime...so he asked me to go to Samet ^__^

Now i've just back from Samet....it's a wonderful and memorable place.Do you know the word "Paradise on earth"? Yeah...i think it really fits for Samet.If you go to Samet just once, you won't wanna go to Pataya ever again! Even this time being in low season but lucky me that there's no rain when we visited there.We're relaxed in Samet for 2 days ; swimming,driving,drinking and stoning(just kidding!),the most i like is the ATV motorcycle.

We drived it to see around the Island......That's a great view! If you guys have no idea about traveling, i think Samet is an interesting choice. (don't worry about the drinking water...there're enough water in Samet but more expensive. If you don't want to pay...just carry it from BKK)

For me...I'm surely to visit this beautiful island again but now it's time for clearing my homeworks... OMG! what should i do? and tomorrow i will talk about the 2nd movie " Daniel Boone" (just hope it would be interesting like the Pathfinder)

i'm very tired for today....gotta go now.

The Pathfinder

After i've seen the movie "Pathfinder" for 2-3 times, i found that it's very interesting movie to study the colonial period of America.Actually, i got some problem about running of DVD....it's quite annoying! especially at the end of the story...the movie was paused and played all the time.... so, i'm not quite sure about the ending.

Well, but that's ok because the plot is really clear and the accent in this movie is easy to understand :)

Pathfinder is the Action, Adventure and Romance movie. It also set during the French and Indian Wars...umm...i think it happened in the 18th century (not quite sure). The Pathfinder is story about the legendary woodsman known as ThePathfinder (or Natty Bumppo), along with his adoptive Indian father Chingachgook and the beautiful Mabel Dunham, becomes involved in an attempt to rescue a besieged British fort. I feel that he looks like a hero or something in this story .....he's so brave and surely that his story telling the important prehistory of American culture.

It shows me that in the colonial period, British and french want to move their power to the "new land" and fight together to get what they want....of course the indian who is the local people didn't want them to do like that...so the war begin!

It seems like every culture in this story still be British not American....but after this period it will be changed little by little.(may be i will know it better when i see the next movie.....just wonder what kinds of movie i gonna get?)
